Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

The Beach Boys Are Back (Sort Of) With A Winning New Release

Posted 05-02-2020 at 08:07 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

It's amazing, the stuff you run into when you listen to Phlash Phelps on your way to work on a certain morning. And it was a couple of mornings ago and the you happened to be me.

How timely that a fellow named Mike Love would come along, and do it fifty years or more after many of his band's hits. I'm sure you've heard of The Beach Boys, right? Sure, you have. Well, Phlash played the world premiere of a song Love wrote and recorded, and done in typical Beach...

William Shatner's Interpretation Of Songs: How Does He Do It?

He's known to a lot of fans as Captain Jim Kirk from the Star Trek TV series. That show had quite a following. But the man who played Captain Kirk, William Shatner, is a brilliant actor who has earned his stripes in numerous television appearances and several series. I mean, it takes brilliance to be brilliant.

But have you forgotten Bill Shatner's other career? That's right, the one where he takes the popular songs of the day and just exaggerates the bajeepers out...

Worst Speaker In American History: Pelosi Must Go

When I told people on this blog page and on our forums to know who your candidates are, I wasn't just whistlin' Dixie. Any time someone runs for public office, the expectation by most is that the person running must be prepared to serve the American people and to serve the constituents in their district or state, whatever the case may be.

We expect certain things when people campaign, but when they don't deliver on their promises, then it becomes an issue.

North Texas Getting One Last Blast Of Cold Air

Posted 04-13-2020 at 09:30 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

That cold front was certainly not cool. It really was a cold one, folks. How about 39 degrees in suburban Dallas on a Monday morning..............in April!??

This is it. I know so. At this time of year, it's supposed to be warming up. And it has in the last week, but why do you think Mother Nature can't seem to let go of Old Man Winter like there's no tomorrow? I'll be wearing my jacket early in the morning for at least the next two mornings before things...
