Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Dow Jones Finally Gets The 30,000 Plateau ---- Just Like I Said

Posted 11-28-2020 at 07:51 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Earlier this year, I just knew that the Dow Jones Industrial Average would make its comeback from the corrections earlier this year due to the strike of COVID. Before this crazy Chinese import made its inroads, the Dow was hitting 29,000 and the immediate future was looking really bright.

I don't have to tell you what happened next. COVID strikes and the Dow fell like parachutist without a parachute. After what we call corrections, the Dow began making...

Just Letting You Know That....

Posted 11-27-2020 at 06:45 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

....December is around the corner.

But it should be interesting as we are about to experience a COVID Christmas, in that I'm holding off on doing any holiday shopping until I know there are fewer people at the mall.

Yep, more uprooted traditions. Just for now.

Remininscing About The Lost Art Of The Late Night Movie

Posted 11-24-2020 at 05:34 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Turn on the television in 1976, and you'll find at least two channels offering some sort of a late night movie. Great days, weren't they? Even though, in that time, one often had just six TV channels or less, depending on what market they had, on their rabbit-ears , there'd at least be something intriguing on.

Turn on the television in 2020, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a late night movie unless you just happen to have HBO or Showtime.

Democrats Are Forcing Themselves On The American People Against Their Will

Posted 11-24-2020 at 04:38 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

While America waits for this year's election mess to finally be resolved with a winner ---- hopefully, the right winner ---- , the cheaters in the Democrat Party are just kicking the door down, eager to break through and resume tearing our great country down. How sad it is that the party who actually did lose on Election Night actually cheated their way into the fold the next day and are forcing themselves on the American people.

You can just tell by the body language...

Work Hours Picking Up For Peak

Posted 11-22-2020 at 08:20 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

In the logistics business, guess what? Every year has a peak season. And when it comes to imports and commodities, the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is usually the biggest.

If I spend more time at work and less time on City-Data , then that's how it goes. It's that time of year as it is, and for guys like me who do important data entry, the bosses are asking everyone to do an extra hour each day. And that's on top of the extra hour I already...
