August has been an extremely busy month for me and I've missed keeping up with all of you!

I hope everyone is having an amazing summer and enjoying some relaxing activities.

I've been carving out some time to participate in some of my favorite activities in Northern Nevada.

What I've been able to accomplish:
Fantastic Friday night concerts at Wingfield Park.

Hot August Nights, strolling through the multitude of restored and not-so...

.....no comparison!

One of the questions I hear the most as a Northern Nevada Realtor is: "is Reno like a little Vegas?"

Today's blog addresses that question.

Although Reno and Vegas are located in the same state; they are NOTHING alike.

One thing they share in common is both are closer to California (Los Angeles/Vegas and Sacramento/Reno) than they are to one another. It is about a one hour flight and eight-nine hour car ride...

I get so excited to learn the music schedule for Hot August Nights!

All of this year's groups are posted and I'm in a serious debate about whether to go to Neil Sedaka or Paul Revere and the Raiders...weigh in on which I should see and why.

And, while I try to decide, following is a list of the FREE name entertainment visiting Reno this year:

Vacation was refreshing; I took some time to unplug from technology and unwind. I am now back refreshed, encouraged and recharged.


This vacation was very interesting because I took the time to "UNPLUG"...well, as much as I am able. I did bring the laptop (but, I did not open it), I did have the android (although, I did not use it much; however, I did feel inclined to play a little Angry Birds and Words With...

Many people think of Reno as hot...hot...hot in the summer and cold...cold...cold in the winter.

This assessment is far from the truth.

We do have weather swings and odd patterns some years; however, as a whole the weather in Reno is just about perfect for those who like the seasons without severity.

Today is June 25th, summer has begun and I had to wear a jacket for my walk this morning...it was 55 degrees and a little chilly.
