Tomales Bay Point


Tomales Bay Point is located in northwest Marin County. The area is a popular spot for outdoorsmen, couples, and families looking for a location to go to get away for the weekend. The best time to go is during the spring and fall as summer crowds can be a bit much. Whether people visit during the summer, winter, spring or fall there are several activities to do. For people who like to go to the beach there are several accessible beaches including Point Reyes National Seashore, Dillon Beach, Stinson Beach, and Muir Beach. The best time to visit the beaches is during the summer months during the warm weather, although overcrowding may be an issue.

Tomales Bay Point also has several water activities and sports available. Tourists and locals can rent kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats for the day or by the hour. Lessons are also available by certified instructors.

There are two oyster farms located at Tomales Bay Point and both are open to the public. Birding is also a popular activity as there are nearly 250 different bird species in the area. Some of the more popular restaurant includes Nick's Cove and the Station House Café.
