The Yamhill Basin Council is made up of 27 volunteers from various stakeholder groups in the Yamhill and Chehalem Watersheds. (The Yamhill and Chehalem watersheds encompass all the creeks and streams that flow into the Yamhill River and the Chehalem River. It covers most of Yamhill County and some of northern Polk County.) We work to improve the health of the watershed by doing stream clean-ups, stream habitat restoration projects, planting native trees and shrubs in riparian areas along streams, replacing old culverts to allow fish passage, and educating children and adults about the importance of clean water and a healthy environment.
