The cafeteria kitchen appeared to be well maintained and well managed at the time of inspection. Refrigeration space in the facility appeared very limited, when considering the amount of food that had to be stored during a food delivery which occurred at this elementary school, at the time of inspection.

Observation: Ceiling and floor drain are not maintained in good repair in that portion of ceiling above washing machine and above the food prep table in the middle of the kitchen food prep area was observed with peeling paint and plaster, and floor drain behind washing machine observed with broken cast iron drain cover ring at the time of inspection.
Correction: Maintain physical facilities in good repair. Poor repair and maintenance compromises the functionality of the physical facilities.

Correction: Protect the food establishment against the entry of insects and rodents by 1. Filling or closing holes and other gaps along floors, walls, and ceilings, 2. Closed, tight fitting windows, and 3. Solid, self-closing, tight-fitting doors. Insects and rodents are vectors of disease-causing microorganisms which may be transmitted to humans by contamination of food and food-contact surfaces.
