Description: The Discovery Museums in Acton has a two-museums-in-one format. The pretty Victorian house is the site of the Children’s Discovery Museum, which is all about play and geared toward very young children. Here, at Bessie’s Diner, preschoolers delight in pretending to make and serve meals to their parents or pull and set a lobster trap at the outdoor ship play space. Older siblings will enjoy the next-door Science Museum, which focuses on interactive science and nature exhibits. A favorite is the SoundLab, where kids can pretend to be an audio engineer and have fun mixing sounds. Closed Mon (although the museum is generally open on holiday Mondays).
