Description: Graeagle Meadows weaves its way through the Mohawk Valley, straddles the Feather River, and makes good use of the towering pines. This course is always in excellent shape and, like so many others in the Sierra, has spectacular scenery. The most renowned landmark is Chief Graeagle, a rock formation to the west of the sixth tee. Ask any Insider to point out his headdress and moccasins at either end of the 2-mile-long formation. Great scenes like this can almost make you forget about the flat, narrow fairways and well-protected greens. The most intimidating hole is the short par 3 16th, with a pine tree blocking the center of the green. The course is usually open from late March through October.
