Observation: Middle shelf in deli case soiled and in need of cleaning.
Correction: Clean and sanitize these surfaces for food contact.
- Mops - Drying Mops
Observation: Mops not hung up to air dry. Utility sink cluttered with mop heads, soiled wiping cloths and other cleaning implements.
Correction: Wet use maintenance items such as mops must be hung in a position that allows them to air dry so they are not allowed to grow contamination which can then be spread through the establishment at the next use. Store soiled wiping cloths in hamper and other cleaning implements properly when not in use.

Observation: No hot water available at handwashing sink by 3 compartment.
Correction: Keep hot water supplied to handwashing sink at all times so that hands can be properly washed. (Water had been turned off under sink and was turned back on during inspection.)

Observation: Personal items(jackets) hanging on food storage rack in kitchen area.
Correction: Store personal items in the already designated area for those types of items.

Spoke with Store Manager (Helen Distler) regarding complaint. She stated they had been working with Dodson on the problem which appeared to be under control at the time of inspection. Possible points of entry had been sealed and glue boards and traps were set out. Some mouse droppings noted on the floor under shelving and in the back of cabinets in the deli but could not determine if it was recent. Informed manager to clean and sanitize area where droppings were so that way it could be monitored for any rodent activity. Also checked food in retail area and retail area stock shelving. No noticeable rodent droppings but will inform VDACS regarding complaint. No violation noted during this evaluation. | 05/19/2014 | Complaint | |

Observation: Food handlers observed wearing gloves for tasks that may not require them through out the kitchen.
Correction: Food handlers should wash hands then put on gloves when handling cooked or ready to eat foods if not using tongs, utensils or other effective means. By wearing gloves continually it is possible that they will be misused, that foods and other surfaces contaminated and hands not washed properly.
