An electrical fire occurred around 11:30 AM this morning. A fire extinguisher was used to put the fire out. The chemicals discharged from the fire extinguisher impacted unprotected foods as well as food contact surfaces in the immediate area. The Fire Department showed up and advised the Operator to discard all of the affected foods and to clean and sanitize the food contact surfaces as well. The Operator was told not to resume operation until the local Health Department arrives and gives the okay to resume.
Upon arrival, it was noted that all of the impacted foods were discarded and placed inside the dumpster. Also, all of the affected food contact surfaces were cleaned and sanitized. The only thing that was now required was the restoration of adequate lighting to the food preparation area. The Operator was given the okay to resume operation. HM

    Correction: Provide adequate lighting to the food preparation area ASAP.
