Animals shed hair continuously and may deposit liquid or fecal waste, creating the need for vigilance and more frequent and rigorous cleaning effort.

Observation: Mops and brooms not hung up to air dry.
Correction: Wet use maintenance items such as mops must be hung in a position that allows them to air dry so they are not allowed to grow contamination which can then be spread through the establishment at the next use.

Employee Health (Form 1B) given to CFM. All CFM certificates not obtained at the Norfolk Health Department are only good for 3 years. If certificates were gained at other agencies, certificates must be brought to the Norfolk Health Department to get transferred to the Norfolk Health Department. There is a 6 month grace period to take the re-certification class after the 3 year expiration date on a current CFM certificate. Employees needing a foodhandle's card must obtain a valid card by the end of April 2013. Schedules for both classes were given.
