Routine
The purpose of this visit was to conduct a routine inspection. Water Heater Information: STATE CSB5218SFEX 100. PIC will send documentation to Health Department within 72 hours confirming that hand sinks in kitchen and bar areas have been serviced so that a minimum hot water temperature of 100 degrees F is provided. NOTE: Existing hot water heater may be undersized, and replacement may be necessary.
Critical: Responsibility of PIC to Require Food Employees to Report GI Symptoms or Cuts, Disease, Medical Condition or Exposure to PIC Observation: Upon discussion with the person-in-charge, one or more of the elements of an effective employee health policy is either missing or incomplete. A complete employee health policy is required to be in place at the food establishment. At the time of this inspection, the Health Department provided and reviewed handouts and resource information in a red folder labeled "Employee Health Policy." NOTE: No documentation for an employee health policy could be located. PIC was not the regular manager for this facility, and advised documentation may be available to regular manager.
Correction: A complete employee health policy must have the following elements:
1) Employee training on foodborne illness, particularly symptoms of illness and prevention of the Big Five illnesses (see "What is Foodborne Illness" handout)

Plumbing / Maintained in Good Repair Observation: The hand sink basin at the kitchen is slow to drain.
Correction: A plumbing system shall be maintained in good repair.
Refuse Container / Removal Frequency to Prevent Odors and Harborage Conditions Observation: Refuse containers were overfilled so that lids would not close. Containers must be emptied more frequently so that containers do not become overfilled.
Correction: Refuse, recyclables, and returnables shall be removed from the premises at a frequency that will minimize the development of objectionable odors and other conditions that attract and harbor insects and rodents.
