Brandon Hamilton has been an engineering consultant for Stone & Webster Engineering in Boston, Massachusetts where he designed public utility systems for Virginia Electric and Power Company. Brandon was a systems engineer and database administrator for San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station of Southern California Edison (see http://www.sce.com/songs). He was a project manager for Aerojet Electrosystems in Southern California. (see http://www.aerojet.com). This aerospace company hired Brandon Hamilton to design and build a satellite communication station. This ground-based communication system was used by the United States Air Force exclusively for the operation of spacecraft used for the Department of Defense. He also designed a video teleconferencing system for communication with IBM, NASA and the Air Force Defense Support Network. In 1990, Brandon Hamilton formed Hamilton’s Solutions as a network to link subject matter experts, assets and ideas. Brandon Hamilton keeps developing by having close ties with institutions of higher education. He started a relationship with DeVry University in Southern California in 1996. He taught part-time in the Telecommunications Management program on the Pomona and Long Beach campuses. He has remained a professor of telecommunications, computer science and business at DeVry University since 1996. He has also taught at the University of Phoenix, Los Angeles Valley College, Ivy Tech State College, Northeastern Illinois University and the Chicago City Colleges. He developed a CISCO academy as Director of Telecommunication Programs at Westwood College of Technology. He has devoted countless hours working the Chicago Public Schools’ Office of Community Relations consulting to a website project that facilitates community building and produces information that can be shared with others on the Internet. Brandon Hamilton has conducted several seminars for the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and The University of Chicago to empower community leaders, school superintendents, principals, teachers, students and parents to use this electronic learning network. The evolving electronic community offers an interactive networked environment composed of services such as universal e-mail, organized Internet access, collaborative software, text, graphical and multimedia information resources. It will provide access to external value-added services and provide direct communication with other outside entities (e.g. companies). This unique community empowerment model is allowing the community and Chicago Public Schools to explore new models of instruction. These students not only improve their educational experience, but they also have an edge in the job market, housing, health care, leadership opportunity, etc. This infrastructure supports 24/7 communication as part of developing a community of k-12, community college and business community learners. While pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Foundations at Indiana State University, Brandon taught at the Keller Graduate School of Management. He has also taught at the University of Phoenix, the University of California at Los Angeles, Westwood College of Technology, Community College of Indiana, Los Angeles Community College, Kennedy – King College and Northeastern Illinois University. Brandon currently teaches marketing, accounting, operations management, business policy and senior project in the undergraduate programs at DeVry University. He teaches telecommunications management, information systems and programming, systems analysis planning and control, database applications, client/server applications, database applications for electronic commerce and management applications of information technology for Keller Graduate School of DeVry University.
Brandon has been teaching and writing about the Internet for years. He has authored and edited numerous articles and has reviewed many textbooks for McGraw – Hill and Thompson Publishing Companies that are used in public and private colleges around the country.
