A registered nurse founded bridges to Health in 2000. After the sudden death of her sister misdiagnosed with Lupus, Dr. Mundorff dedicated herself to offering clients a proactive approach to health care by providing the client with the tools needed to make critical health care decisions; learn natural ways to live a healthier life, and find inner peace. Dr. Mundorff is a Board Certified Naturopath with a strong background in advanced nursing practice and health. At Bridges, we do not diagnose disease, prescribe drugs, or perform surgical procedures. We provide an alternative to traditional medical practice by offering a different way to deal with health problems.
At Bridges, we believe that holistic health and naturopathy are alternatives to and can complement traditional medicine. We define holistic health as treating the whole person by exploring the effects of illness on the body, mind, spirit, as well as environment concerns. We define natural health or naturopathy as the ability to maintain good health through living a natural life that includes lifestyle changes. Lifestyle changes would include eating whole, fresh, and unprocessed foods, exercising for a better mind-body, providing the body with the supplements it truly needs, understanding the effects of rest on the body, better sleep, and positive interactions with other people and the environment. Naturopaths see illness as the body’s way of signaling a deviation from what is normal. The focus: is to find the actually cause of the problem; treating the problem (rather than the signs and symptoms that are manifested by the illness, or to suppress the symptoms with medication).
