- The Historic 243 year old General Sutter Inn is one of the oldest continuously operating inns in the United States. General John Sutter of Gold Rush fame stayed here while his home was being built. The inn has 15 wonderfully unique rooms and suites done with classic decor and featuring new pillow-tp bedding, European white goose down comforters, flat-panel LCD televisions,and wireless internet access. A continental breakfast is included with stay. Three dining areas offer a wide variety of menu choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and are open to the public.
