  • What is a lighting history museum? In our case, it is a well displayed collection of over 400 American Art Deco Slip Shade light fixtures, including wall sconces, table lamps, pendants, & chandeliers. Much research was done to ensure accuracy in the historical context, and background of each piece. A self-guided tour, go at your own pace through the lighting of the Depression Era. Explore the Kelly American Art Deco Museum at no charge. It is our joy to share this extensive collection with the public. We are open 10 AM to 5 PM every day except major holidays. We have hosted visitors and groups from all over the world who are impressed with the variety of the Art Deco Slip Shade collection. See the only collection of American made antique Art Deco Slip Shade lighting in the world, at the Kelly American Art Deco Light Museum. Lincoln Manufacturing, Mid-West Manufacturing, Virden, Consolidated, Lightolier, and Markel, are just a few of the famous manufacturers of the day. Most went out of business during the depression, or when metal became scarce during World War II. View over 400 vintage lights, including rare lights that are otherwise undocumented, and some popular lights that will make you say “My grandmother had those in her house!” Each beautiful antique slip shade light can be seen with original antique slip shades, often in more than one color. The variety will astound you. The history of each piece is documented, with manufacturer and distribution information, making this a glimpse into history. In addition, we offer full lighting restoration and rewiring service. Custom made or specified orders are also welcome. After seeing the Art Deco Lighting Museum, browse our gift shop and antique furniture selection.
