I am a clinical psychologist who works with adults who have experienced abuse or trauma. Sometimes life can be difficult for reasons we don't understand. Things can happen in relationships that are overwhelming and even dangerous. But we don't know what to do or how we ended up in this situation in the first place.
Talking with someone who cares and understands can help you find your own strength and abilities you may never have even known you possess. Even horrible things that have happened in our lives can be understood and experienced now in ways that can move us forward with satisfaction, peace, and connectedness.
For thirty years I have worked with people who have lived with past and/or present abuse or trauma. Through our collaboration they have been able to energize their lives and found self-knowledge and understanding that has brought them comfort and joy in relationships with family, friends, co-workers. Together you can find a place in the world that brings you warmth and safety.
After receiving my B.A. from Indiana University, I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. As an expert in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I have presented, lead seminars, taught, and trained others internationally on topics from Domestic Violence to the Holocaust, including depression and childhood abuse and neglect.
