Description: Established in 1961 with the merger of the Myrtle Beach News and the Myrtle Beach Sun newspapers, the Sun News is the only daily newspaper along the Grand Strand. It provides comprehensive local and international news, stock market reports, weather forecasts, and a classified advertising section. On Friday the paper includes the “kicks!” section, which offers information about upcoming entertainment as well as reviews. In 1997 the Sun News began a Saturday insert magazine, rotating the subjects of Health & Fitness, Senior Living, Outdoors, Technology & Computers, and Homes & Gardens. The Sunday edition is chock-full of extras, including a separate real estate section, TV guide, coupons, and Parade magazine. Daily circulation is nearly 50,000. The McClatchy Company owns the Sun News.Daily delivery subscriptions for a full year are $171 or $124 if you just want delivery on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. A 13-week daily subscription runs $49; for weekend editions only, the cost is $31.
