Thornton Winery

The Thornton Winery opened in 1988 and specialized in making champagne and sparkling wine. The winery uses the Methode Champenoise as its main technique for making their champagne and sparkling wine. In 1993 Thornton began making still wines and has produced several award winning varieties since. There still wines often emulate classic tastes and wine styles of the Mediterranean region. Also on site is the four star award winning Café Champagne which is owned and operated by the winery's president Steve Thornton and members of his family. The café offers guests with views of the Temecula Valley and an old world Italian style café that serves a variety of fusion cuisine year round.

The winery also is a host to several annual and special events throughout the year. Their biggest event is the annual Thornton Winery Champagne Jazz Series, which recently was conducted for the 22nd year in a row. The Jazz series brings some of the biggest names in jazz to the winery. Guests are treated to jazz music, gourmet food, and Thornton wines all held in their renowned outdoor theater. Other events are held throughout the year. The winery is also available for private events such as weddings, family reunions and corporate meetings.
