Santa Barbara Museum of Art offers 27,000 works of art. It is the largest museum based on pieces and quality found in the eight cities near Santa Barbara, California. The set up has roughly 5,000 years of history on display. For instance they have classical antiques that are only out done by the J Paul Getty Museum. Santa Barbara Museum of Art also has the largest Monet collection in the west. Other pieces such as Portrait of Mexico Today (1932) and their Latin American Art collection are the best on the west coast. Most years, the museum of art has 150,000 visitors to attend the exhibitions, activities, and see the permanent collections. Roughly 40,000 people take education programs through the museum in order to add on to their college or school requirements. The museum obtains 1 percent of its budget from grants.

Most of their income is generated from the admission price. They tend to spend 20 percent of every dollar earned to give back to their visitors through education programs. Admission is $9 for adults, $6 for children and seniors, and anyone under six is free. Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday 11am to 5pm.
