San Benito Stage Company

San Benito Stage Company, founded in 1999, is a nonprofit arts association for local musical and theatrical performances, plays, and workshops. The mission of the stage company is to offer a place for actors and actresses to take the stage and offer entertainment for the entire community. In 2010 they offered Ax of Murder, Willy Wonka Jr, Oklahoma, Kids Rule and Encore Theater Camps, and How to Succeed in Business for stage productions.

Every year San Benito Stage Company gives different plays and theater productions. Some of the productions may be more Broadway in origin, while others are unknown playwrights trying their hand at theater. The Historic Granada Theater hosts San Benito Stage Company performances. It is also available for rentals should a community arts or civic club wish to hold an event. The theater can sit 280 people. Technical equipment can also be rented at the theater, though they are limited in what can be provided.

Costumes are also rentable through the theater. They offer Disney costumes, Wizard of Oz, Guys and Dolls, and period assortments. Props such as stairs, columns, tables, bar, coffin, large gates, and more are available for use with theater rental.
