O'Donnell House Historic Tour


The O'Donnell House Historic Tour in Palm Springs, California is a ninety minute historical tour that reveals the history of the city of Palm Springs from a house that sits high above the city. The house is situated above the Desert Art Museum and was constructed in 1925. The house has been completely renovated and restored and reveals the meticulous detail that was prominent in the early 1900s architectural design.

The house is situated at 412 West Tahquitz at the Willows Historic Palm Springs Inn. The tour is led by one of the innkeepers who are knowledgeable in explaining the history of the city in great detail. Questions are encouraged. The views from the house are scenic and the O'Donnell House shows a scenic view of the O'Donnell Golf Course.

The tour offers an insight into the living quarters and lifestyle of the time period including Mission style furnishings carved in great detail, pottery and dishes, rare tile design, and early California furniture. Guests on the tour leave with an understanding of the early 1900s time period and their way of life. Tours may be booked in advance or signed up at the front desk of the hotel inn.
