Northstar-at-Tahoe


Northstar-at-Tahoe is an outdoor adventure resort that opens primarily for skiing during winter months and mountain biking during summer months. The resort features excellent scenery and plenty of exciting trails. The resort is located a few miles north of Kings Beach (on the north end of Lake Tahoe).

Northstar-at-Tahoe boasts being one of the best year-round mountain resorts in North America. With a recently built village that includes 35 shops and restaurants, a conference center, and an ice skating rink, the resort has on-site lodging and hosts special events throughout the year.

Established in 1972 after the mountain was acquired by Georgia Pacific from the "Timber Farm," Northstar-at-Tahoe has continually updated their resort over the decades adding new lifts, lodges, trails, and other outdoor adventure activities.

Activities at the resort include hiking, biking, horseback riding, golf, tennis, fly fishing, and day camps during summer months. During the winter, the resort offers ice skating, alpine and other skiing, showshoeing, tubing, and biathlon.

Northstar at Tahoe Ski Area is located about 40 minutes by car southwest of Reno, NV and 15 miles north of Lake Tahoe. Visitors can enjoy other nearby tourist attractions: Donner Memorial State Park, Emigrant Trail Museum, Donner Lake, and historic downtown Truckee.
