Monterey- Carmel Spanish History Tour

Monterey Peninsula, California is the site of the Monterey-Carmel Spanish History Tour. The tour takes visitors back to 1602, to a time before British settlers landed in the eastern Jamestown. Visitors are first introduced to the Spanish era, which was at its height from 1770 to 1822. Some of the expedition will take visitors off the regular path to almost hidden gems of the city. The tour is actually three hours in length, in which visitors will be taken in a minivan to the surrounding sites. Some of the sites include Spanish Cannons, dating to 1818. These cannons drove away pirates. There is also the oldest church on the tour, along with the Carmel Mission and Old Mission Tour.

The tour is $28 per adult and $15 for children 12 and under. If you do not want the long three hour tour there is a walking tour by the same company. This includes the Lower Presidio and is $5 for the tour. It is meant mostly for grade school students, and lasts for 90 minutes. Tours are Tuesday through Saturday. The first tour is 9am and the second daily tour is at 1pm.
