Chimney Rock Winery, Napa

Napa Valley, California's Chimney Rock Winery can be found on the Stags Leap District's Silverado Trail. The facility offers private events, private tasting and tours and a tasting room. In 1980 the facility was established to produce wine capable of competing against the highest quality of Bordeaux. The winery covers one hundred and thirty-seven acres at the district's Southern end.

Chimney Rock Estate is to Silverado Trail's east at the Stags Leap District's south end. Shortly after the property was purchased during 1980 there was a combination of white and red grapes planted on the first seventy-five acres. The beginning of the 1990s saw the need to replant the original blocks. There were only Bordeaux variety red grapes planted once the districts' unique characteristics were identified.

The replanting was split up so that Petit Verdot covered three acres, Merlot covered twelve acres and forty acres were Cabernet Sauvignon. The Wilsons and Terlato families formed a partnership during 2000 and purchased half of the Chimney Rock Winery. Cabernet Sauvignon were planted on the rest of the land estimated at sixty aces. There are now one hundred and nineteen acres of vineyards covering the estate. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the Winery directly.
