Children's Nature Institute

Children's Nature Institute is located at 1910 Magnolia Avenue in Los Angeles, California. The facility is designed to give an educational and hands on experience of the natural world. Social skills, academic skills, creativity and independent discovery are all encouraged at the Institute. There are a number of programs that incorporate the main influences in most children's lives to help teach them.

The facility has provided over fifteen thousand children a year with opportunities since 1985. There are a number of programs including the Outreach Discovery Program that are designed to show the city of Los Angeles' children nature. The program is three parts. Wonder Mobile Workshop is a traveling classroom that allows children to think like scientists and explore the world around them.

The Field Trip portion of the Discovery Program is designed to take children to wilderness areas in the area and increase their knowledge. The children get to participate in listening, touching, smelling and exploring activities. The field trip is available two to three times each week during the morning. The third part of the program is the Urban Nature Hunt. This portion is used to link the other two aspects of the program. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the Children's Nature Institute directly.
