I was recently let go from a contract to hire job at a large pharmaceutical corporation doing insurance benefits verification. Before that did various medical billing type jobs, mostly in medical accounts receivables which is all follow up and reworking denied claims. I don't think i'm any good at medical admin jobs as I keep getting laid off or contracts not turning into permanent hires so I'm trying to keep options open now.
That said, I just received a job offer as an AR clerk for a large packaging company that has big corporate clients as well as small local business clients. I would be building client relationships and creating/verifying accounts, as well as basic AR work. It will be about a 220$/month pay CUT
but the hours seem great and is about 3 miles from my place. I'm just trying to weigh my long term career opportunities with this. All I can find on google is that I'd be able to move into more accounting type roles which i dont' want. Are there other ways I'd be able to carry over this type of experience? Anyone with this type of experience have any input? Would love to know what else I can do with this.
Thank you in advance!
