Desertsun41,
People will say to me " You just say you love Virginia cause you're a real estate agent" No way! I have lived all over in some beautiful places, but none compare.

OMG I love those cashews. I want some now too!

I lived in NJ for 38 years, Canada 1, Nevada 19 now and have a second home in Texas. I only lived in Chesapeake, Virginia from 1996-1999 and I call Virginia my home. I always will. Its not just the beach. I lived 12 minutes from the Atlantic in NJ.

Its the people, the places, the things to do, Waterside, Captain Georges, Bergeys, Rowenas, Harborfest (oh forget fests as there is one every weekend of the year practicly), Doumars, Sandbridge, Lock Park, boating on the ICW, First Landing State Park, concerts in the VB Amphitheater, Mount Trashmore, Virginia Diner and the chocolate double dipped cashews, fishing under the Jordon Bridge and wondering if it was going to fall down, Lauching my boat at Lock Park, boating up the Elizabeth River and parking at Waterside for dinner, taking the water taxi to Portsmouth, driving around to gawk at the old homes in Ghent........

These are my fondest memories. To think that I never seen McArthur Mall angers me but if I dont stop writing all my favorite places I will cry so I shall shut my fingers up now.

Wait a minute now. No "best of" list is complete without mentioning the most beautiful lake on the face of the earth. Smith Mountain Lake below Roanoke where we spent many summer vacations. While Im out there I have to mention our frequent stops in Schuyler, Virginia where the real life Waltons Mountain is. The originonal Ike's General store burned down 20 some years ago but it was rebuilt and we have lunch there. Right across the street is Waltons Museum. This is where the real life Waltons, the Hammer Family lived. Oh Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown.

Ah what memories. I will be back.
Thanks for letting me vent.....................
