I need to attend a conference in Vancouver in early May. I'm looking for place to stay which is convenient (by foot or public transportation) to the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center. Any recommendations? I'm paying the bill for this one, so would prefer to spend less than downtown rates. B&Bs and others are OK, but I don't know the city or transportation.

All advice welcome. Thanks!

I used to live very close to the West End Guest House on Haro St. several years ago and it looked charming from the outside, which is all I ever saw of it. It's only about 6 blocks or so walk from the Wall Centre.

You should probably take a look at Tourism BC's site, HelloBC, and check under accommodations.

Look at the Blue Horizon on Robson. B&B's like the West End Guest House, Barclay House, and O'Canada House are excellent, but are not necessarily cheaper than a basic room at the Sheraton. There's a Holiday Inn on Howe Street which is spitting distance to the Sheraton.
