I'm an artist and one of the main points that we are taught in art school is how to 'see'.
We look at something carefully so it can be replicated, negitive space and other tricks to seeing are used.
From a historical approach, we learned that artists used optics.
What is seen in the windows is an optical illusion.
It is a reflection of light and trees and the shadows within.
As an artist, I work in many mediums and one of those is dye on cloth. There is a teqnique I have that creates images similar to the reflections in the window.
When these items are on display, the game most played by shoppers is 'what do you see?'
People see dragons, skulls, clowns, raccoons......etc in these chaotic designs.
Your windows are just that....a chaotic design that in art would be called representational abstract.
I have a friend taking painting lessons and in one lesson she had to concentrate on shapes. When she turned her painting over it was a face that she had been painting upside down. I thought that was interesting.
