Guam has bigger problem - all those brown snakes - even a troop of mongooses couldn't handle them
I wrote about beauty, not utility. Personally, when I go to the beach here on Oahu, I tend to avoid Waikiki as it's too crowded. But it's still wide enough for me if I do want to go. I've never had any issues with cleanliness at Waikiki Beach, though. Clearwater Beach does look nice, too.

Funny you mention the brown tree snakes on Guam. Sure, they've decimated many native bird species, but I've never seen one while on Guam. Probably because they primarily live in forested areas and/or in trees, caves, etc. I've primarily stayed in hotels or resorts on Guam in Tumon, but also spent a week at the Leo Palace resort further inland.

It's just too crowded- even the proper tourist district is unpleasantly full of people. & The pollution is so bad along the coastline you can smell the garbage in the water in some places (this is reliable info.)

& Naturally Hawaii downplays their slummier neighborhoods. They wouldn't dare chase away tourism.
Even when I've been on Guam around the busiest times of the year, I've found it more manageable in the touristy areas than I've found Oahu when it came to getting around.

I've never smelled garbage in the water while on Guam, though I don't doubt your story. I guess where I've been just didn't have that issue.

I don't remember Tumon Bay being polluted, but at times green algae forms from the sun,but is usually cleaned up and of course you see litter here and there at times, but nothing that bad compared to other parts of the World.

Your either someone that just wants to put Guam down for some bad experience you had there or maybe someone online from Guam offended you.

Guam is not sparkling clean like Singapore, but Guam is not as dirty as other parts of the World i've been to.
I agree on your analysis on Guam. I never found Tumon or Guam in general to be terribly crowded, especially compared to Hawaii. Same on pollution.
