Yes, the "Went With The Wind" sketch from The Carol Burnett Show is the Gold Standard in my book, and the scene where she descends the staircase in her curtains dress is the high point. Not only is the sight gag absolutely hysterical, but they manage to come up with the perfect punchline to send the audience over the edge.
You've got this right. The two best Honeymooner scenes were the above and the one where Ralph thinks Ed blackballed him for Racoon of the Year and he gets the letter asking for a reference for Norton.
Three other Seinfeld favorites off the top of my head....
The puffy shirt television interview.
The ‘shrinkage’ scene.
“They’re real, and they’re spectacular” (In a review of ‘The Big Picture’ during it’s release in theaters in 1990, one of the reviewers for the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner Sunday pink section wrote that if Teri Hatcher was any more beautiful, the screen would explode )
I laugh until I cry EVERY time I see this. Classic!
I Love Lucy Carmen Miranda episode segment. Note Ricky's eyes bug out, and Ethel under the hat on the chair. Worth every minute watching this segment.....
