The only Channels I watch is AMC, Discovery Channel(American Choppers), History Channel, and just a FEW others I can't think of right now. While the rest of the channels are not watched.

I recently had to scale down on my cable because I could no longer afford all the channels I was subscribing to. I thought I would miss them but I really don't. There is only one show I miss on Showtime but if I am patient, NetFlix will come out with the new season after it has it's run.

Like you, I found I didn't watch most of the ones I had when I had them.

I called my cable provider and asked them if I could bundle the channels I would like, but was told they can only bundle channels according to their packages.

I watch a few channels only, but some of them are in separate packages, so unfortunately when I cancel any given package I will lose some of the channels anyway...

The only channels I have actually turned to since having cable for the past 5-10 years (non-locals).

- ESPN 1,2,U
- Fox Sports
- MTV
- VH1
- E!
- Bravo
- HGTV
- TNT

That's it.

I only watch a few channels and I want to cut my service down to basic, but my son likes to watch all of the extra sports channels we get.

I think it's like clothes or meals...you get comfortable with some and know there are plenty of others in the closet/ fridge but still go back to the tried and true. I am trying to take advantage of On DEmand and watch channels I don't normally watch so I can get into some new shows.

This is true of all cable providers. I wonder why they do this. It would be great to be able to pick and choose channels instead of packages but I suppose the cable companies have their reasons.

I wish you could have your pick of a certain amount of channels. There are really so many channels that are a waste to my household, that we have no interest in. When i do the surf, I feel like I am surfing forever.
Any channel in a foreign language, any sports or cartoon are a total waste to us.

Do you think the owners of those stations would allow it? The cable companies must bend over to them. Some of the big ones help pay for the other ones they offer (not the cable providers).

I told my wife I wanted to just can cable but keep the internet to stream shows we watch. I'm tired of paying 120/month or TV.
