The main reason not to move to Tulsa is that Elvin Bishop doesn't live there anymore.

I notice that quite a few of The First 48 (homicide investigation) episodes are filmed in Tulsa.

Is murder a significant downside?

Looks like they're cooking in triple digit heat. That's something bad.

I watch that series too but many are in other cities, if you stream on Peacock you can choose which episode/season youd like to watch. But I cant disagree with you, North Tulsa is not the ideal place. Drugs, crime... The shooting a few months ago at the QT store, is just down the street from where I live.

Tulsa has hit 100 degrees one time this summer. I get so tired of people trying to claim that Oklahoma heat is as bad or worse than the desert heat of Arizona. Can it be as bad. Yes. But only for short stretches of time. About one year in a decade is even close to Phoenix style hot. 2011 being the last one.

Ahh.. but what happened not long after this post? Some of the most oppressive heat indices during the first couple of weeks of August that was ever recorded. (Miami; located in far northeast Okla. recorded a 126F degree heat index.. highest ever in the state recorded and Tulsa had several days between 115-120F). It should be made clear that typically, June is the month with the highest heat indexes when readings up to 110F can occur as a result of moisture in the ground from spring and early summer rains and building high pressure ridges. This summer, the ridge was stronger than normal and for a time, that ridge centered itself over Missouri/Kansas and Iowa which brought in moisture from the southeast along with the unusual warmth aloft emanating from this high pressure system. Thus, the reason for the incredible heat and humidity values that occurred. These conditions are unprecedented for this area and hopefully will continue to be a rare experience.. but with climate change, who knows what future summer's will look like.

Haven't looked over this whole thread, but I surmise the biggest negative about Tulsa is the growing crime problem. Otherwise.. how about a thread about why Tulsa is a great place to live? I could name a few.
