Our neighbor (landlord owner) recently turned their townhouse unit into an Airbnb type of rental.

As you can imagine, we now have a revolving door of one-night stay type of residents and everything that comes with that.

We are a small townhouse community of 6 units and we do have a HOA agreement requiring approval before a owner rents, or sublets their unit. This owner did not follow protocol.

All of the other neighbor are obviously upset.

Does anyone know of a lawyer that specializes in this situation or has anyone had to deal with this situation?

Hasn't the HOA, who has the responsibility to handle this, taken any actions?

You don't need a lawyer. That is what the HOA is for.

This is a completely cut and dried situation. No need to involve lawyers. This isn't a legal issue unless they are violating some sort of city code that prevents short term rentals.

Clearly the HOA means nothing to the landlord/owner... so he'll tell them to pound sand. At which point, if it's a serious HOA, the lawyering'll start.

Yes, but HOA lawyers and not your own. Of course, they still cost money, but it is spread across all the members - including the STR one .
