I don't think San Antonio satisfies that requirement. Our (much beloved) mayor is Julian Castro. The city is not nearly as conservative as people claim. The outer areas to the north and far west, sure, but that's generally not where the theater jobs are.

True. I would expect most theater jobs to be in the heart of the cities. I don't mind a bit of a commute though, which is one of the reasons I'm curious about traffic.

Another thing to consider, I am a single male and would like to live in a place that has a good singles scene with nice women that could potentially be marriage material. I'm sure each city has eligible women, but are any better than the others?
Well, that would be the Inner Loop of Houston, where you'll be putting yourself into an even more liberal situation. In Houston, your conservative community is largely found in the suburbs, which is mostly composed of families who are, most likely, not into the arts.

I don't see why a conservative family shouldn't or wouldn't be into the arts, it just has to be the right kind.

I'm not saying they shouldn't or couldn't be. I'm saying that they typically aren't.

I suppose you're right... there has to be at least a few conservative girls in the city though (or tat the very least, not flaming liberal).

Of course, but the same is true for most major cities, to include Austin.

Yes, but going through the Texas cities stereotypes thread, Austin really doesn't seem like my kind of place. So far I'm thinking Houston or Dallas would be more to my liking.

But if it's based on the political environments of the cities, stereotypes are just that...stereotypes. Austin is no San Francisco or Portland, so if you feel that it would be too liberal for your tastes, Houston and Dallas would most likely be as well.

Well, at the very least, being in the state of Texas has to be better than being in New York. Where I live now isn't particularly liberal, but the state as a whole, because of the city is awful.
