Texas Trivia (Houston, San Antonio, Anton: hotel, home, association)

I'm proposing a Texas Trivia game for the forum. We did this in the Wyoming forum (my home state) and it was a lot of fun and very educational. https://www.city-data.com/forum/wyomi...a-renamed.html It went on for 191 pages before interest died out.

Rules: The Texas Trivia question should be about Texas history, people, places, facts, activities or events, etc. The answer should be something that can be found on-line so every one has a chance at finding it if they search. i.e. it should not be something so obscure that it can only be found in a rare book that very few people have access to.

One question at a time. One person asks a question. Whoever first answers it correctly gets to ask the next question. Answers should be substantiated with a link to a web site or two that documents it. The person asking the question should confirm if the answer is correct. If no one seems to be able to find the correct answer after a day or so the person who asked the question can provide hints or provide the answer with substantiation and then ask a new question.

Googling to find an answer is perfectly fine. The object is to have fun while learning new things about this great state. Not every answer will be as easy as that first one.
