I received permanent certification N-6 from NYS in 1993. I am trying to get certified in another state but I cannot find out my NTE scores. I am going in circles trying to locate this information.
Even my grad school is of no help.
Calling NYS Dept of Education is a joke...there is no way I can get through without being disconnected. I don't want to have to take the Praxis Test since I have my degree and passed years ago.
If anyone knows how to get old scores, let me know! Thanks.
Ouch -- I feel your pain. Have you tried the NYS DoE Teach Online website to see if you're listed? If so, they might have an online record of your scores.
Who administered the NTE exam? Was it NYS or was it a private company (like ETS)? If the latter, they might still have records -- although it's just as likely that they destroy them after a certain number of years.
well, my problem is just the opposite. I have a copy of my test score and they still won,t issue me a certificate. I have held an emergency certificate for ten years since 2000. Now they no longer issue emergeny certificates in MS. That means I out of a job. I have been trying to obtain my certificate since the day I received my score in the mail. They mixed me up in the change and never wanted to acknowledge that they had make a mistake. I did get someone there to admit that I should have been issued a certificate because I had meet all requirements before the change occured, but still for years they have refused to grant me a certificate. I need some advice, assistance, or someone that can help me, maybe even a legal assistance. This has gone on much too long since 1983.
I recently moved to Georgia from New York State. I have held permanent certification in several teaching areas as well as an administrative certificate. As Georgia requires a Praxis (NTE) I am in need of my scores. I took the test in 1988 and due to time and several moves I am not able to locate my copy of my scores. Can anyone tell me how I might retrieve this information?

Thank you (sokrtees@windstream.net)
I went looking for my Praxis II scores taken in 1992. NTE said they do not have copies that old...Fortunately I had a copy of my test scores placed in my credential files at my undergrad institution and was able to have them forwarded to me.

I am also curious if anyone has found a way to get a copy of old NTE scores. I didn't even think state educaiton departments would even recognize these. Even if you found a personal copy, it wouldn't be sent from ETS so I am surpised the state ed department would accept them.
Did you ever get your answer and receive your old scores?
