I'm amazed (and thrilled) that that's true. So many other places in the country have a ton of units on the market; too much competition is never a good thing for a seller.

Default Easiest Cities to keep Fit in

Cooking Light names cities that best fit its philosophy - CNN.com

We're number 14 apparently.

Quote:
14. St. Louis, Missouri
A love for local produce and healthful activities keeps this urban center well fed and on the move.

I'm surprised by this....wasn't it just a few years ago that Men's Health called us one of the least fit cities?

I'm a little surprised any midwestern city could be near the top of the list... we do love our red meat.

But they're right on the money with the fresh produce part. The Farmer's market has to be one of my favorite places. I'm hungry just thinking about it.

Default Tomorrow Night on HGTV

At 8:30 Tuesday they'll be featuring some St. Louis homes, as well as 2 other cities.

It originally aired this summer, but in case you missed it it will be on.

If it is the same program that was on earlier in the month, "What You Get For The Money", I believe that the highest-end home featured ($1 million?) is located in the Wydown/DeMun area of Clayton, just west of Forest Park.

Default Site Selection magazine ranks St. Louis third for economic health

Site Selection magazine ranks St. Louis third for economic health - St. Louis Business Journal:

"St. Louis was ranked No. 3 in Site Selection magazine's annual Top Metropolitan Areas ranking that gauges the relative and long-term health of a metro area's economy.

There were 95 corporate facility projects in the St. Louis area in 2007, the third-highest number of projects in the country for metro areas with a population over 1 million.

In the article, Dick Fleming, president and CEO of the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association, said branding and marketing efforts have brought economic development deal-flow to an all-time high in the area.
"We now have some 90 deals today in which St. Louis is on the short list, and those deals collectively have a potential of generating more than 14,000 jobs and more than $3 billion in new capital investment in the 16-county, bi-state St. Louis region," Fleming said. "A substantial number of these deals are very high-paying, technology-oriented jobs."

That IS sweet. I've been conducting extensive research lately and find nothing but positive outlooks from local residents. The rehabbing and revitalization efforts are tremendous! Perhaps St. Louis will be the leader in smart urban revitalization.

This validates what I've been saying for a while, St. Louis is a great place to live! Our economy is diverse and our central location and low cost of living gives us a leg up on a lot of different places!
