I've gone to the Daytona 500 race 2-3 times. Being there in the stands is maybe the most exciting sport that I've attended.....including NFL, MLB, NBA, pga, pro tennis, soccer, horse racing (done all of these)grand prix racing. But it's a case of do it once, no need to do it again......
I filled out the survey, but by some strange error there were a number of activities listed that are actually not sports. For instance, golf, car racing, figure skating, gymnastics.
I would never waste my time watching any of those activities, any more than I would watch a dog show.
Why does American football go for 10 seconds and then stop for 3 minutes so they can sit around and show commercials? Maybe that would explain why half the players look like they are morbidly obese...
I think TV fails to capture the energy of being at a soccer game. Not a sport that translates well to TV, IMO (Although countries other than the US may beg to differ!).
NASCAR is my least favorite version of racing that there is, but based on attending other racing events, I'd imagine it's far more fun if you're actually at an event.
To be fair, I think all sports are lost in translation to some degree via watching on TV - but some hold up better than others.
Soccer is amazingly boring, hockey is right behind. Golf is up there also. The good sports to watch are basketball, football (real football - American style), and yes, baseball, which is too cerebral for collectivist Euro-minds who have a native antipathy to individualism.
Golf wins hands down. Bowling and NASCAR are painfully boring, but I don't really consider them sports, since they are not very athletic, more in the game category along with poker, billiards, darts, chess, ect.
Any sport that has to be judged and scored. Although boxing is judged and scored, I can live with that, as they do not attempt triple axles or double gainers or some other things, that I have no idea about.

American football only became as popular as it's been with the advent of TV. It's made for TV. I personally find it very boring. They run into a pile and then stand around during a commercial. On and on.
I'm sure I'm missing some key elements of the overall play but don't bother to learn them. My father said people like to watch football because they can gamble wildly on it (used to be "offtrack betting") and because they like the violence.
I don't like not being able to see the players' faces or what they are really doing athletically. I do like basketball and love baseball, the latter which many people find boring. I do understand baseball very well, and wonder if I'm missing subtle interesting things in other sports, but if I am, so be it.
Which sports do you think are boring to watch on television?
I'm going for soccer. It's so boring because it's very low scoring. Ice Hockey is the same reason though I might watch the NHL playoffs if they air it. I'd much rather watch rugby than soccer for sure. I'm also going for tennis outside Wimbledon, Australian Open, French Open, and U.S. Open along with gymnastics, cycling, swimming, and cricket.
I assumed you asked about watching on tv because some things are much more interesting in person.
I focused on that dichotomy (tv vs live).
I cannot understand why anyone would watch NASCAR on tv, but from what I hear, it's really exciting in person.
I don't like watching basketball on tv, but I always have fun when I go to the games (college and professional).
Same with baseball.
Golf is as interesting to watch on tv (maybe more) as it is in person (because in person, you lose the ball on long drives, you can't follow the entire hole, etc).
Soccer. Well, soccer is boring live or on tv. And I say this as a former competitive soccer player (it's not boring to PLAY soccer).
Some of these are not sports, auto racing is a hobby.
A hobby I once partook in, just about anyone with all 4 limbs can master it.
Golf and table tennis could also be considered "hobbies" as they are skills most anyone can become good at with enough time and patience.
