Hello all,

I'm coming to your beautiful city again this week actually for St. Patricks Day weekend(check in Friday afternoon leaving Monday). I'm a bagpiper in a Fire Department band and our group tries to come every year. I'm staying with my wife downtown and we've looked for reasonable parking. Not a lot of great choices. If I have to pay, fine, I just like to look for free Parking. I don't mind taking a bus/taxi from a lot somewhere not too far outside of town, but it has to be worth it. So far I have 20 a day at the convention center. Any ideas? Thanks.

Unfortunately, $20 seems to be the going rate. Even if you are out in Pooler, the parking is free but it's $20 to ride the bus. You may want to make contact with the Savannah Firefighters Local 574 through Facebook. They may know some place that will help out firefighters.

Forget what the all day parking is for some garages downtown, but thought it was less than $20 a day. I may be wrong though. Hyatt off Bay St. Is $35 a night; what a rip off, nice rooms though, especially ones facing the river. OP, does your hotel/place of stay not offer parking or is it $$$ as well? I bet even Uber pricing will ge high given the volume of people coming in.

That’s IF you can find a driver. It’s a madhouse.

Alternatives are at Oglethorpe Mall, one of the spots CAT is offering shuttle service. I forget the cost, but I’m sure it’s less than $20.

Yeah good point re drivers. Plus quite a few out there driving drunk as well (just reg vs taxi/Uber). Had our last Uber driver who worked last year get t-boned.

The problem with the convention center is the long wait to get over the River on the ferries.
