After a LONG work week we usually do take out on Fridays.

I need some new ideas though. Not so bad for you, maybe not so fast but easy take out food.

Ideas?

EZ's and Pei Wei fit the "Not so bad for you" part, depending on what you order.

If you're looking for authentic Italian food - Joe's Italian Buffet is the way to go. I'm from NJ and REALLY missed the delicious mom & pop "pizza places" (as we call them) we had on every corner. That was until yesterday. A co-worker of my husband's told him about Joe's, so we decided to try it out last night. OMG, I was in heaven!! Pizza like I grew up with. It's on the corner of Culebra and Ingram if you're interested.

Have you tried Rome's yet? (You're in the AR area, right?) It's on Culebra, inside 1604 across from HEB. Great pizza and lots of yummy stuff! They even do delivery and we had the absolute nicest, most professional delivery guy from there!

I do have to say though, we usually limit fast food to "Fast Food Friday's". Since we had fast food last night, we're going to BBQ tonight. I'm always amazed at the amount of people in the parking lot of any FF joint on any day of the week. Pick a day, any day, and there's a 5-6 car line in the drive thru in the evenings. Scary!! We fell into that trap when we first got here and my husband and I really packed on the pounds!! (I've lost 14 of the 18, but I shudder at the way we were eating!)

You should see the drive-thru hot dog places in the Chicago suburbs. THAT'S scary! Packed all the time.

Try El Pollo Loco for a change of pace. It's pretty good!

Some great ideas here, thanks to everyone for contributing.

We've been to Pei Wei and really liked it. Just haven't tried take out from there. Never been to EZ's though, may have to try it.

We are in Alamo Ranch, yes. Didn't know there was a Rome's On Culebra though. I know there's one in Helotes but haven't tried it. Pizza sounds great. May have to try Rome's and Joe's too!

I've passed El Pollo Loco many times but never thought to try it. That may have to change soon!

We didn't have a fridge for the first 8 days we lived in our new house. We also got used to the fast food habit. I know the feeling!

We limit it to once a week too but try to do a little healthier variety of fast(er) food.

Thanks again all!

I do like the crazy chicken

do tell more about this Joe's Italian Buffet place. Is it new? I don't go that way often, but it is relatively close to the house.

edit- just got a rave review on Joe's from a coworker that is originally from New Jersey. He said it's very authentic and he goes about once per week. I'm gonna check it out
