We just moved to Helotes from Camas, WA (still scared by all the critters you have here). I have a daughter in kindergarten and would like to enroll her in a spanish program -- summer school or weekly program. Does anyone have a recommendation on a good beginning spanish progam for children?

Well...
I don't know if they still have it, but I remember that in 5th grade I was in this program (i think it had a corny name like "¡Ole!" or something) where you had a specific teacher that taught you normal 5th grade AND taught you spanish on the side as well. This was at Leon Valley Elementary (which is in NISD), but like I said, I'm not sure if they still have it, and I also don't know how wide spread it would be either (like if all elem. schools have it or just a select few)

San Antonio also has a few Spanish Immersion schools. You can do a search for them here.

There is a great program called Aragon They have a school on the northwest side We have used it for two little boys ages 8 and 4 They have gone to weekly programs day school and summer programs. All are great. We are sad now that the eight year old has outgrown their program.

There's a great small school in the Alamo Heights area. The name is New World Spanish. I know some people that take their children there and speak highly of it. Good luck and welcome to SA.

The original post was from 2008, so their "child" is likely in college now.
