A couple of year ago we made a discovery, I would hope someone would give me some information on this or would have a clue on what I have in my backyard.

we have a large backyard and there is more than enough space to park a couple of cars back there. A few years ago We had a car parked in the back in a space where the ground is mainly dirt, when we noticed that one of the back tires was slightly sinking in making the ground sink in, as if the car was pushing the ground in, This was ilogical since theres no way that can happen. We were curious and What we did was move the car and start digging to see what was causing the car to start caving in.
It was not even about 2 ft deep of digging when we discovered that there was only 2 ft of ground there, underneath that layer of ground was empty space something like a cave or a tunnel. We made a hole large enough for a person to fit in and a family member went underground, There is enough space for people to walk under there, being down there the only thing we found was a large empty coffee can , the walls down there are surrounded with something like brick, We have no clue what it is or what it was used for, an old friend told us that a couple of blocks form here, near washington Elem. school there were underground tunnels used back centuries ago leading to ilegal prostitution homes. I Have no clue what This thing in my backyard is, and would be very interested in knowng since the home and property is owned now by us. If anyone knows of underground caves or tunnels around here share your info. I would be glad unsolve this mystery.

Nalaura,
