That looks nice and given the variety of shows, I'm kind of surprised that the capacity isn't higher than 750.
From the article, it stated a need for something between 500 and 1500 seats. I think that is the perfect size, and with 2 balconies, there should be a lot of great seats. That sounds like a lot of money, so I would imagine superior acoustics.
I'm seeing a show soon at Innovation Square, which is a 700 seat theatre. Can't wait.
Kodak Center, on Ridge rd (rt 104) seats 1968 and has many shows.
Many other theatres in town, but that would be getting off topic.
Additionally, if I'm understanding the Innovation Square project, RIT students, as well as a student from any other local university could schedule something there.
"Rochester Institute of Technology will receive $500,000 from the Google Cybersecurity Clinics Fund to teach and train new cybersecurity professionals while providing services for the public good.
The funding from Google.org, the company’s philanthropic arm, is part of a $20 million collaboration with the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics that Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, announced in June.
Modeled after free clinics at law schools and medical schools, RIT’s cybersecurity clinic will deploy teams of students to provide free cyber assessment services and resources to community groups, including nonprofits, small businesses, municipal organizations and school districts.
“The expansion of our cybersecurity clinic through this partnership will give students real-life experiences and an opportunity to sharpen their skills while also helping their community,” said Ersin Uzun, Katherine Johnson Endowed executive director of RIT’s ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute. “We hope to build long-lasting relationships that can keep the talent in the region by making students aware of local opportunities and connecting the community with the talent they need to stay secure in this landscape of ever-increasing cyber threats.”
Added Royal Hansen, Google’s vice president of Privacy, Safety and Security Engineering, “These clinics have been designed to provide the next generation of professionals with the tools and resources they need to succeed in the ever-growing field of cybersecurity.”
In addition to grant funding, Google offers RIT volunteer mentorship from Google employees, Google Titan Security Keys and scholarships for the new Google Career Certificate in Cybersecurity."
