So I recently started working for my family's real estate company. We have 2separate office locations that clearly fall in 2 separate regions in regards to the board of realtors. No one in our area uses the MLS however we would like to as a way to set ourselves apart.... My parents were told that both offices have to be on the same board... which would do a disservice to one of the offices. Has anyone else encountered such a problem? Anyone know anyway we can get around such a problem? I'm so frustrated.

Is there a reason why both offices could not belong to multiple boards?

It seems logical but the boards are saying the whole company has to be on one board... ugh. I don't know how to convince them to make an exception...

here the broker has to belong to the MLS board for an agent to belong. BUT not every agent has to be a member of both boards.... SO... as the broker (office) you can join both boards and then allow the agents to join either or both...

Is yours similar?

no we are in NY... a nazi state. Every agent has to pony up and it is like $850 each. We are going to loose agents over this. ugh.
