Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach growing its workforce to meet increased production demands

VERO BEACH — Keeping up with a 33 percent increase in production from a year ago, Piper Aircraft has grown its workforce quickly over the past few months.

The Vero Beach-based aircraft manufacturer has added at least 200 employees this year and is looking to fill at least 65 new positions in the next few months, said recently hired Director of Human Resources Rachel Diaz, who joined Piper on April 2.

Those new jobs include 50 for direct labor positions and 15 in engineering and administrative jobs.

Piper’s staff, which had fluctuated between 700 and 750 people for several years, will top 1,000 by year-end, Diaz said.

It is Piper’s most dramatic staff increase in staff in at least a decade, said Piper spokeswoman Jackie Carlon.

Fueling the fast staff increase is a 33 percent increase in production this year to at least 220 aircraft from 166 last year.

Since we have Disney property here on the Treasure Coast at Disney's Vero Beach Resort

ORLANDO, FLORIDA —
Disney is offering to pay full tuition for hourly workers who want to earn a college degree or finish a high school diploma.The Walt Disney Co. said Wednesday it will pay upfront tuition to workers who want to take classes starting in the fall.Disney initially will invest $50 million into the "Disney Aspire" program and up to $25 million a year after that.Other large corporations have begun paying tuition for workers in a job market with low unemployment. In May, Walmart said it will offer workers the chance to get a college degree at three universities with online programs. Disney is rolling out its program in phases, with the first limited to online classes. It is being administered by Guild Education, the same firm operating Walmart's program.

Most of these listings I've seen sans the government jobs have been mostly entry level, but still helpful to see who is hiring around the area.

Will do. Yes I tended to post mostly entry level since there is a higher quantity of those jobs and thought it would help a wider audience. My suggestion for the mid level to executive level is to target the individual companies from the links below in the areas to search for an opening in your specific skilled area. I will also try to post more mid level and executive openings when I notice an availability.
