The other 20+ Arab states don't enter the Miss Universe contest or else there would be more sad stories like this.

In international sports competitions, the Arab athletes usually refuse to engage Israeli competitors. Sometimes that means forfeiting resulting in their elimination. The Iranian regime REQUIRES this of ALL their athletes. If an international sporting event is held in an Arab country, that country normally refuses to grant visas to Israeli athletes. Lately the Arab states have been forced to relent by the relevant international sports organizations threats that future events will not be scheduled there.

A recent example of this was the International Judoka Federation championship in Abu Dhabi. At first the Abu Dhabi government denied the visas. After a delay Abu Dhabi relented but only on the condition that the Israelis wear generic uniforms of the IJF, not national uniforms which displayed their flag. Well it turned out that the Israelis won FIVE medals including a gold. The Israel national anthem was not allowed to be played - instead it was the IJF anthem.

This is Arab craziness and hate. They make a mockery of the values of international sportsmanship and the Miss Universe contest.
