So I just listened to quite a few songs. I like his style as it is quite different and more fun.

Probably was a pretty good guy. It is a shame we lose so many younger people to drugs. I never remember it being like this in my lifetime.

All five of his albums debuted in the top 5 on the Billboard chart. His Youtube videos have a couple billion views. He was already pretty big.

Man I Remember when he first came out. It made me choke up a bit to hear this. Keep hearing about some singer Arianna grande? that brought this on. RIP.

EDIT: He was a dope rapper by the way and he was a really fun guy too. Didn't strike me as a druggie type.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people are influenced by the media.

Many have been a light before... It's a crisis not a problem

Are you serious? He was quite public about fighting his demons.

And the people blaming Ariana for this can get bent. Mac Miller's problems were of his own making, not hers. She had no obligation whatsoever to go down with the ship.

Who do random people feel the need to mention if they never heard of someone famous who died?

Earlier this year my 27-year-old colleague fatally overdosed. I attended his viewing (or is it "wake" in Pittsburgh?) and saw a vision of my 31-year-old ex laying beside him in his casket. I've been shaken up ever since.

For those who don't know after 6.5 years together my ex developed a heroin, meth, and fentanyl addiction (graduated from illegally-bought and -consumed pain medications) and left me with no notice for a dealer. He is now increasingly going downhill and will likely also fatally overdose---we just don't know when. He refuses to get help or let anyone help, and he relapsed days after being released from an expensive rehab program (paid for by his parents) earlier this year. He's caused two car accidents since last year---claims both were from texting while driving but I know the drugs were definitely partially responsible. His friends and family won't talk to me---presumably because they blame me for his addiction.

I've become a different person now, so I post here much less frequently. I just involve myself in my work. I'm numb and prefer to just be alone. There are so many resources available to help addicts but no resources available to help those detrimentally impacted by addicts. We're told to just kill ourselves, so many of us just end up doing it.
