Thanks kdog!

Yes, I have thought about HDR, I really want to give it a try. I just haven't got around to getting myself a copy of Photomatrix. Maybe in the near future.

I posted some from the same series in the beach thread, but here's a few others I liked from the same morning. Took these on my honeymoon back in May down in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I woke up at 5:30am, but for some reason my wife didn't want to get up that early on vacation, haha.

Here's a link to the album if you want to see more of them:
Picasa Web Albums - Jason - Honeymoon Sun...
I pretty much just sat on a chair at the edge of the beach clicking away. No one else was silly enough to be awake that early in the resort, it was pretty cool to be the only one on the entire beach.

Don't mind some of the crooked horizons...

Thanks! I love this set of photos, I didn't have to do a thing. I just sat there and snapped away; the colors were incredible on their own without any need for fancy photography
I just need to narrow it down to 1 or 2 to print out to hang on the wall.

I was sitting in the woods this morning waiting for some nice bucks to show up. I thought I would turn my camera 180 degrees and take a picture of the sunrise thru the woods. I took four pictures, didn't want fool around too much, figured it would be my luck a buck would come flying thru while I was occupied elsewhere.

I didn't expect much, it was just something to do. Three pictures came out pretty much what I expected. This is the second one, no photoshop processing. I thought it was odd the way the sun rays seem to stop in mid air

Absolutely amazing!

If that had been an HDR or a multiple exposure blend, you could have preserved the exposure of the sky instead of getting blown out. In that case, this would have been an award-winning category shot. Just sayin'. Still is an excellent capture the way it is though.
